Author Bio: Roger Manley

ROGER MANLEY left Texas before his first birthday and has been on the move ever
since. By this point he has worked as a photographer, folklorist, curator, filmmaker,
and writer interested in everything from outsider artists and tribal peoples to fairy
tales and gardens. Along with WEIRD CAROLINAS, Manley is author of THE END IS
NEAR! and SIGNS AND WONDERS; and co-author of HOME MADE; PLANK HOUSE;
DEAR MR. RIPLEY; HOAXES, HUMBUGS & SPECTACLES; and SELF-MADE WORLDS; and a
co-director of the peculiar feature-length film about power objects, MANA-BEYOND

of Charleston and the Isle of Palms, he now owns a house in the other Carolina,
though he rarely gets to go there.  For the last several years, he has shared a cozy
garret in Montmartre (France), with his wife, the writer and photographer, Theadora
Brack, and their amazing rubber-band-retrieving kitty, known to the world as Kitty.
